Overview

ClassFinder ("the App") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

• Account information: If you sign in with Firebase Authentication, we store your user ID and display name to manage your account and subscription status.
• Course data: Course catalog and schedule data is fetched from the Anteater API (anteaterapi.com) and cached locally on your device. This data is publicly available UCI course information.
• Calendar access: If you grant permission, the App reads and writes events to your device's calendar. Calendar data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
• Location data: The App does not collect or transmit your location. Campus map directions open in Google Maps or Apple Maps.
• Weather data: The App fetches weather information from OpenWeatherMap using a city name, not your location.

Third-Party Services

The App uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Firebase (Authentication, Firestore) - Privacy Policy
• RevenueCat (Subscription management) - Privacy Policy
• Stream Chat (Messaging) - Privacy Policy
• Anteater API (Course data) - Operated by ICSSC at UC Irvine

Data Storage

Course data is cached locally on your device for performance. You can clear this cache at any time from the Manage menu in the Member tab. Account data is stored in Firebase's cloud infrastructure.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Data is only shared with the third-party services listed above as necessary for the App to function.

Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account from the Member tab under Manage > Account Settings > Delete Permanently. This removes your data from our systems.

Children's Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
